What is a Front Post Stitch?

In crochet, a front post stitch is a technique where the stitch is worked around the post of the stitch from the previous row instead of into the top loops. The hook is inserted from front to back and then from back to front around the post of the designated stitch, and the stitch in progress is then completed as usual.

Why Use Front Post Stitches?

This method pushes the stitch forward, creating a raised texture on the front side of the crocheted fabric. Front post stitches are commonly used by designers to achieve various textures and patterns, adding depth and dimension to crochet projects.
